The work was done and now it was time to
play. We drove for an hour and a half to Pulhanpanzak, a
spectacular waterfall that has to be experienced to fully
describe. While the view was breathtaking, the hike under the
falls literally took our breaths away. The force of the water
coming down and the water splashing up was almost deafening and
extremely exhilarating. Our only relief during the journey were
two “caves.” Drew commented that this could be a
taste of how powerful God truly is.
Afterwards we ate peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches near a small soccer field. An intense game of
frisbee fútbol followed until Derek turned his ankle.
Our makeshift medical clinic in the river helped cool everyone
down.
The most dramatic thunderstorm met us on
our return home. It was advised that we stop in the restaurant
we previously ate in Lake Yojoa to wait out the storm. Once at
the apartments, we made a quick change and visited Roger and
Sue’s place, a spectacular home designed by our friend,
Mizael. After another tasty meal, a forty minute slideshow was
presented of the highlights of this amazing week. I felt a bit
of melancholy that night packing realizing that our time here
was almost to an end.
