This morning we woke refreshed despite the noises of traffic in the evening and
the rooster cacophony in the morning. We enjoyed a traditional Honduran
breakfast of scrambled eggs, refried beans, and corn tortillas. During which,
we discussed Psalm 90, Moses’ prayer.
More sanding and painting. More conversations with each other and the workers.
We had to leave the site a bit earlier than usual in order for Michael, Alfredo
and me to make meeting with the parents of the first 35 community children to
be admitted to the school. Alfredo spoke for roughly an hour answering about
the commitment each parent has in order for their child to participate.
Afterwards we met with each set of parents for them to sign a contract
confirming their commitment. I was both discouraged and encouraged at the same
time. Roughly half of the mothers were single parents that had been abandoned.
However, I was encouraged that these mothers were taking advantage of an
opportunity for their children to get a quality education and to see Christ
lived out before them at La Providencia.
For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently,
you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household
